Relics of Brittany's past

This powerfully atmospheric little construction in an isolated and beautiful location near Lanrivoaré, is said to have been the Hermitage of Saint Hervé, one of the major figures of Brittany’s Age of Saints. It is in the perfect natural setting for profound concentration on spiritual matters, surrounded by massive trees and a burbling stream. Probably dating from the 11^th century, this is a later version of what would have been a wooden hut in Hervé’s own time. Son of a famous bard, he was blind from birth, escorted on his later travels by a young boy Guiharan, and his faithful wolf, which often figures in iconography.
